Isla Fuerte, Bolívar -IPSE 2010Isla Fuerte is a tourist destination south of the Gulf of Morrosquillo, at a distance of 6.6 miles of the continent, belonging to the chain of islands made up of San Bernardo, Tortuguilla and Rosario Islands. This natural paradise, suitable for water sports like diving practices, offers crystal clear water with a huge variety navy, which between corals and species from the Colombian Caribbean, served as the stage for a community friendly, hardworking, surrounded by immense natural wealth, landscape and cultural, yet marginalized from development.
In Isla Fuerte, IPSE implemented the Technology Innovation Center with emphasis on gaseous fuels and solar energy project that guarantees a better use of available energy resources in the area, improving service delivery of energy and becomes a vehicle for improving the living conditions of the community.

Seguimiento a proyectos MedellínOn the premises of the Faculty of Mines, National University of Colombia-Medellin, was held on Friday 13th August, a follow up meeting to check the status and progress of the agreements between IPSE and the different national and international entities, for development issues including: agro-energy, bioclimatic house, programs for Rational and Efficient Use of Energy, in addition to the energy infrastructure projects and the use of renewable resources.
This activity allowed each of the project leaders to present the progress and difficulties found in their development. IPSE currently has agreements with: National university of Colombia, Medellin, Technological Park of Antioquia-PTA; Corporation for the Sustainable Development Urabá - CORPOURABÁ; Unión Temporal de Mutatá Biodiesel; National Energy Financial-FEN; Energy Company of "Bajo Putumayo"; "Unión Temporal Fulgor", Renewable Energy Company of Spain PROINSO; Company ALDAR of Argentina through the Temporary Titumate, Institute for the Development of Antioquia, IDEA, through the Financial Mechanism of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.

Guajira ColombianaBetween 11th and August 13th 2010, officials of IPSE traveled to Villanueva (Guajira), to meet with the Ambassador of Japan, Tatsumaro Terazawa and his team to have a tour in several locations in the Upper and Middle Guajira, as Uribia, El Cardon, Cabo de la Vela and Riohacha. From that town began moving overland to the population of Uribia, distanced 92 km from Riohacha, and then to Cabo de la Vela through Jepirachi wind farm, a place where the ambassador of Japan met with the Mayor of Uribia, Ms. Cielo Redondo, and Wayuu indians leaders, who were waiting to greet him and invite him to see a sample of the crafts Wayuu, an important source of income to the villagers due to the exceptional beauty of the fabrics, colors and textures.

Viceministro de Minas y Energía, Tomás González Estrada; Andrés Taboada, Dirección de Energía Ministerio de Minas y Energía; Edigson Pérez Bedoya, Director General del IPSE y su grupo directivo.On a visit to the facilities of IPSE, last August 19th, 2010, the new vice Minister of Mines and Energy, Tomas Gonzalez Estrada, met the institute and has been developing activities for the planning and promotion of energy solutions to the non interconnected zones of Colombia.
The visit of the Vice was attended by the Director of IPSE, Edigson Perez Bedoya and its steering group, who presented him with a balance of work done in the period 2004-2010, showing that the entity with investments close to U.S. $ 649 million, managed to solve definitively the provision of electric service in 54 municipalities, of which 34 currently have reliable service using diesel plants and interconnections to the National Interconnected System, achieving better efficiency and a 24-hour coverage of the service. On the other hand, was possible strengthened through the scheme of exclusive service areas to San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina; Leticia and Puerto Nariño (Amazonas), the power service for 24-hour continuous .
